6th AUN-UIE Annual General Meeting held at Singapore Management University

The 6th ASEAN University Innovation and Enterprise (AUN-UIE) Annual General Meeting, held at Singapore Management University on the 30th September of 2025, buzzed with energy as researchers, professors, school representatives, and start-up founders from across the region gathered to exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration. Delegates from ASEAN member universities together with guests from partner institutions in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation), China (Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications Guangxi University Science Park / Chudeng Education (Zhejiang), and the Philippines (Affiliated Stanford Entrepreneurial Society (ASES) Manila) shared how their campuses are driving the future of innovation through technology, creativity, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

The meeting was graced by the Executive Director, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapan Laiprakobsup, who delivered the opening remarks and set the tone for a day focused on purposeful collaboration and regional impact.

A highlight of the programme was the “Gives and Asks” segment, where each university outlined the capabilities, resources, and initiatives they could contribute to the AUN-UIE network, while also sharing areas in which they sought support or partnership. This open and constructive exchange reinforced the network’s commitment to helping each other grow and scale meaningful innovation efforts across borders.

More than just a formal gathering, the meeting became a dynamic space for connection, where bold ideas met practical collaboration across entrepreneurship, commercialisation, research, sustainability, global partnerships, education, and investment, empowering participants to shape 2026 strategies for a more sustainable ASEAN. In the end, the 6th AUN-UIE Meeting reaffirmed one shared belief: innovation grows best when we grow together.
